The small surviving part of the city wall. The Old City Wall was built during 553 in the Ming Dynasty, Shanghai constructed it to protect city from Japanese pirates. The wall 8.1m (27 ft.) tall and 4.8km (3 miles) around, and contains 10 gates. There is a small exhibit here on life in the old Chinese city.
