Located in Loftus, Sydney Tramway Museum preserves a collection of trams which are native as well as from around the world in a large display hall of the museum. The tramway museum has something to offer for each age group and the young as well as adults can enjoy unlimited rides in the vintage trams which date back to 100 years. Opened in March 1988, the museum is one of a kind which houses a purpose built prison tram which used to run from Darlinghurst Court House and Long Bay Gaol from 1909 till 1949.
