Plaza de la Constitución (El Zócalo) is one of the largest squares in the world. It is flanked by the Metropolitan Cathedral and Sagrario to the north, and the National Palace to the east, as well as a number of other historic buildings. A wide variety of events may be hosted here, including concerts, demonstrations or other more typical social gatherings.
