Österreichisches Filmmuseum or Austrian Film Museum was founded by a film enthusiast known as Peter Konlechner. The museum preserves and displays the collection of films it has acquired since its foundation. Its collection consists of about 25,500 films which cover the era of cinematography from 1893 to the present. Österreichisches Filmmuseum also has a library which covers the film aspects with the help of a wide collection of books.
