City: Sydney
Description:

Established on the outskirts of Parramatta, the cemetery is the oldest existing European burial ground in Australia, the first interment being James Magee, a convict's child. The oldest surviving grave is of Henry Edward Dodd (1791) which was marked with a stone memorial. It is enclosed by a brick wall that dates to 1820. This is a true pioneer cemetery and an outstanding site of cultural heritage.
