Built in the 19th century, the Dolmabahçe Palace was used as an administrative center of the Ottoman Empire. Comprising an area of 11.2 acres, the palace has been divided into three parts such as Harem-i Hümâyûn, Muayede Salonu and Mabeyn-i Hümâyûn. The entrance is near to the ornate clock tower which was designed by Sarkis Balyan. Dolmabahçe Palace has survived with its original furniture, silk carpets, curtains and decorations.
